Verla you have been gone only two months and it seems like forever. We all miss you so much, your smile when the girls and myself would walk in the door telling us how wonderful we look. I miss you sitting on your chair when we would come and see you. We think of you every day and know you are watching over us. You are with us in our hearts. When I go to your house I can smell you and that makes me feel a little better. We truly love you and would give anything to see your smiling face in person. I love you my verla and I will always keep my promise I made to you. I Love You and miss you.

This is in honor and tribute to my beloved Sister, whom I miss dearly.

To My Sister

I think of thee, my Sister

In my sad and lonely hours

And the thought of Thee comes over me

Like the breath of morning flowers

Like music that enchants the ear

Like sights that bless the eye

Like the verdure of the meadow

Like the azure of the sky

Like Rainbows in the evening

Like blossoms on the tree

Is the thoughts of thee, Dear Sister

Is the tender thoughts of Thee

This poem was borrowed from a poet from the 1800's and it's as if he was describing you my Sweet Sister. I Love you, Norma

"Sweet Gibby"

With just a mention of her Name Our lives will never be the Same

"To know her was to love her" It is such an old cliche'

But I don't have to tell you That was just Sweet Gibby's Way

If I could find the words to tell You What Sweet Gibby meant to Me

She was the nearest thing to Heaven On this Earth, I'll ever See

With the face of an Angel Sweet Delicate and Kind

Gibby's Graceful Beauty Which is rare in life to Find

She was an Angel in Disguise And brought such meaning to our Lives

That Sweet Twinkle in her Eye Was Like a Rainbow in the Sky

If you look at Gibby's life Aloving Mother and a Wife

Sweet Gerry was her Guy The True Apple of her Eye

And She Knew he was the One So they married, had a Son

And they were having so much Fun That they had another One

It just fitting...She had boys Because they multiplied her Joys

And Grandaughters, there are None That Shine brighter than the Sun

Like the calming of the Night Forever precious in her Sight

Finding Words, You just can't To describe our Loving Aunt

And up until her Dance was Done A Better Sister there was None

She was a Teacher and a Friend Up until the very End

And Stranger's just a Word That my Sweet Gibby never Heard

Like the Beauty of the Sun

Never finished...Never Done

True blessings from above For God had blessed us with this One

And it wasn't just by Chance That her Life was filled with Dance

A Special Gift that she was Given Sent straight down to her from Heaven

With so much Magic in their Twirls They were known as Gibby's Girls...

And when she could no longer Dance It was through them she had a Chance

Like Angels given Wings And O Sweet Memories that it Brings

I'm so proud to be your Niece

My Sweet Gibby Lay in Peace

This is dedicated to my Lovinig Aunt Gibby Who Like the Gentle Beauty of A Ballerina Will Forever Dance in Our Hearts...

All My Love and Prayers

Miss Gibby was an angel here on earth with us. For her family, Thank you for sharing her with us. We were all so very lucky to have her as a part of our lives. I met my best friend in your basement and many of my memories come from there. I will always love Miss Gibby and will never forget. You are all in my thoughts and in my heart.

Gibby is an inspiration to everyone. I danced with Gibby for 16 years and loved every minute of it. She was the most giving and understanding person.

Maggie and I both know that Angie and Bridget are dancing right by your side. You will always be in my heart, Gibby. I love you!

Miss Gibby was one of the most generous, incredible people I have ever known. She will always be remembered for all of the lives she touched. Some of my fondest memories happened in the basement of Miss Gibby's. Thank you, Miss Gibby for teaching me to love dancing, and to be able to pass that love of dancing onto my girls. Many prayers and blessings to her family.

My grandmother was one of the greatest people I even knew. She was a graceful dancer and a wounderful dance teacher. She was also a great mother and grandmother. She was so kind to others and so many people just adored her. I will always remember all the fun times I had with her. I miss her very much but I can't be selfish I have to let God have her now I know he will take good care of her as she did many others. I know when it comes my time she will be waiting for me with open arms right next to God! I will see you later grandma and I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!

With all my love,

Miss Gibby has touched the lives of so many people, and will be greatly missed. My deepest sympathy to her husband Jerry and Tim and Chris and their families. She was so special to me and my family. I was a dance student of hers for many years growing up. She was a big influence in my life. She always had a smile on her face and was so kind to everyone

I love you, Miss Gibby and will never forget you.

Gibby will be greatly missed by all, especially my daughters, who speak of their memories of "Miss Gibby's" often, and had hoped to have girls so they could send them for dancing lessons with her!

My sympathy to all of Gibby's family and friends and especially her husband Gerry.

I have had six daughters take dance lessons from Miss Gibby. She was a wonderful positive influence on each of them. She truly loved each one of her girls. There are few women that have had so much good effect on so many young girls in the South County area. She will be remembered in our hearts forever.

Gibby, I will miss you so much. I know you are in a better place. I know that Angie, Bridget, and Elizabeth are all dancing beside you in Heaven. You have brought so much joy and happiness to everyone you met and taught. I will always dedicate my love and happiness for dancing to you, because I would not be the dancer I am without you. Keep Smiling.

Love always, Maria
