Betty Jane Johns Bevis Betty Jane Johns Bevis, 70, died Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2005. The service will be at 10 a.m. EST Friday at Beggs Funeral Home Apalachee Parkway Chapel (850-942- 2929), with burial at Sylvania Cemetery in Decatur County, Ga. Memorial contributions may be made to the Tallahassee Elks Lodge, 276 N. Magnolia Drive, Tallahassee, FL 32301. She was a native of Recovery, Ga., and a former resident of Pella, Iowa. She had been a resident of Tallahassee for the past 12 years. She was a member of the Tallahassee Elks Lodge and the Gamma Phi Beta sorority at Florida State University. She was a homemaker, a Protestant and a talented artist. Survivors include two sons, Harold Bevis of Chicago and Graydon Bevis of Denver; a daughter, Tina Bevis Wood of Milford, Conn.; a twin sister, Netty Bradford of Tallahassee; a sister, Joanne Johns of Recovery; a devoted niece, Melissa Winder of Inverness; a devoted companion, Rodger McDougall; and eight grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford "Tip" Johns and Vivian Smith.
