George ANTIA Obituary
was born in Bronxville, NY on July 1, 1937 and lived in Largo, FL for the past 40 years. He passed peacefully on March 6, 2018. George had a passion for everything automotive, especially classic Mercedes Benz, T-Birds, and motorcycles. Among his many friends, George was known to have an encyclopedic knowledge of all things cars that he loved to share. Up until the last week of his life he could be found out in his shop working on cars or talking about cars. He leaves behind his wife, Virginia; his daughter, Lauren; sons, Bob, Chris, and Nick; several grandchildren; his sister, Mary Ellen Mark; as well as his beloved little brown dog, Roxy Jane and his hand-raised cat, Q. George was a larger-than-life kind of person and his passing leaves a void for those of us who loved him. However, consolation will be found in the happy memories we have of the time we spent with George.

My dear brother you were always a blessing in my life..I remember all the good times. Teaching me how to drive all the life lessons of owning a car are still with me today. How loving you were being there for my wedding. Just being you. My heart goes out to Ginny and the children who are now grown with lives of their own. I worked for Dale Powers Automotive and Woody Richey's Proper Motor Cars in the 80s-90s, and was sent on errands to access George's sage advice and vast knowledge, often enough that we became friends. His loss makes the world a lesser place.

I met George in 1992 and we became friends right away.He always was helpfull with advice and had incredible stories to tell.I will miss picking up the phone and call George to talk cars and engines.I'm glad to have known him and will remember him as he was,

I seem to always be busy keeping the old Alfa Romeo Spider running, and I grew up in Bronxville New York. My Mother, Ellen Shaw was a teacher there at the Elementary School for 35 years. Happy Trails George! Eventually someday I will join you.
