Joseph Sterzinger Obituary

STERZINGER, Joseph H., 84, of Port Richey, passed away, Wednesday, April 14, 2004 at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point in Hudson. Born in New York, N.Y., he moved to Florida in 1988 from Albany, N.Y. He was employed as a Health Program Administrator for the New York State Health Department in Albany. He was also a licensed Funeral Director with the State of New York, employed at Ebbers Hill Funeral Home in Brooklyn, N.Y. He also served as the investigator for the New York State Depart- ment of Funeral Directing. He was a World War II veteran, serving with the U.S. Navy, a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church in Hudson, the Timber Oaks Community Service Association, the bowling league, and the Live Oaks Club. He organized the Florida West Coast Chapter of New York State Retired Public Employees Association and was also responsible for two other RPEA Chapters in Florida. He was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Father Felix Ulrich Council #5869 in Port Ri chey, and the BPO Elks USA Lodge #2192 in Colonie, N.Y. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne Sterzinger of Port Richey; two daughters, Marcia Crane of West Orange, N.J. and Beverly Doan of Pasadena, Calif.; a sister, Anna Sterzinger of Brooklyn, N.Y.; four grand- children; and four great-grand- children. Burial will take place in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, N.Y. Arrange- ments made by Bell Funeral Home, 7532 State Road 52, Hudson, Florida. 727-863-2404
