Edward P. Baptiste

Edward P. Baptiste, 60, of East Taunton, passed away on Monday, May 22, 2017 at his home. He was the husband of the late Eileen (Cornaglia) Baptiste. Edward was born in Taunton the son of the late John and Ida (Cardoza) Baptiste. He was a graduate of Taunton High School class of 1974. Mr. Baptiste worked for the Massachusetts Department of Corrections as a corrections officer in Bridgewater for twenty years and retiring in the early 1990s. Bap was the co- owner of the Rendezvous Cafe in Raynham. He was an avid New England Sports fan who liked collecting sports memorabilia and coins. He enjoyed golfing and fishing. Survivors are a daughter: Lori A. Baptiste and her Fianc Joe Rock of New Bedford; a son: Ryan E. Baptiste of Fall River; two granddaughters: Ariana and Aubrielle; two sisters: Joan Burke of Swansea and Florence Furtado of Taunton; three brothers: Donald Baptiste of Rehoboth; Jack Baptiste of Falmouth; and Paul Baptiste of Taunton; along with many nieces and nephews. His family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, June 3, 2017 from 10am to 12noon with a Prayer Service following at noon in the Crapo-Hathaway Funeral Home, 350 Somerset Ave, Taunton.
