Ben Osking Obituary

Ben Eielson Osking

Fort Pierce, FL

Ben Eielson Osking, 86, of Fort Pierce, Florida, passed on peacefully January 17, 2017. He was born to the late Elmer and Elma Osking on July 17, 1930 in Hatton, North Dakota. Named for his uncle, the heroic aviator, Carl Ben Eielson, Ben shared the same zest for life and adventure. He served in the 11th Division Airborne of the U.S. Army. He graduated from the University of Miami and married the sweetheart of the Phi Kappa Tau fraternity, Nancy Ball. Ben and Nancy shared 60 years of life together beginning in Miami where Ben was comptroller of a medical supply company. Together, they built a beautiful home overlooking the Atlantic Ocean on Grassy Key and enjoyed boating and fishing with the family. Ben and Nancy established Island Accounting in Marathon. Later, they enjoyed mountain living and gardening at their home on Puncheon Fork Road in Mars Hill, North Carolina. Finally, they moved permanently to the Sea Tern in Fort Pierce.

In addition to his loving wife, Nancy Ball Osking, Ben is survived by his sister, Eileen Osking Mork of Hatton, North Dakota; son Eric Ben Osking; grandson Zachary Ben Osking and grandson Hunter James Osking; son Daniel Frederick Osking and his wife Kathy Osking; grandson Ian Eielson Osking and his wife, Ihla Ruth Stanton Osking; and grandson Justin Daniel Osking.

A family celebration of life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Lucie County Humane Society.
