Daniel Hatch Obituary

Daniel F. M. Hatch Sr., died March 14, 2009, at the VNA/Hospice House in Vero Beach. He was born in Binghamton, N.Y., and moved to Vero Beach in 1945 from his place of birth. He worked for Piper Aircraft for 29 years before going to work at Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute in Fort Pierce for 12 years as a prototype machinist. He was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church in Vero Beach, where he served as a Eucharistic minister. He had served in the Navy. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Rosemarie Cali Hatch of Vero Beach; daughter, Theresa Ann Simmons of Fort Lauderdale; sons, Daniel F. M. Hatch Jr. and Joseph D. Hatch, both of Vero Beach; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Catherine Marie Myers in 2005. Memorial contributions may be made to the VNA/Hospice Foundation, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960. SERVICES: The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. March 17 at the Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home in Vero Beach. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. March 18 at St. Helen Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Fort Pierce.
