Peter Newman Obituary
Vero Beach - Peter Newman, 73, of Vero Beach, FL passed away July 22, 2021 at VNA Hospice House. Born March 10, 1948 in East Orange, NJ to Francis Newman and Adele Damiano Newman. He attended South Orange High School and served in the US Air Force 1967-1970 serving in Vietnam.
Peter had a distinguished career in mechanical contracting as a Project Manager with Limbach National Construction, Senior Mechanical Engineer with Turner Construction, President of Atmos Group, and Executive Vice President of Peco, Inc. He was active in the Starlight Foundation of New York City hosting golf tournaments to raise money for the children's charity.
Peter retired in 2001 to Vero Beach, FL. However, always eager to be part of the construction industry, he consulted on many HVAC projects in southern Florida.
Peter enjoyed a full life traveling with his wife, boating, golfing with friends and enjoying his gin game. He enjoyed a glass of wine and a good cigar. He dearly loved his family and grandsons and was grateful for his many enduring friendships. Peter is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Kaye (Dye) Newman, sons Peter Jr. (Jerome), Michael (Katie) Newman and grandsons Jack and Luke as well as siblings Mary Lou (Roger) Delrusso, Frank (Lori) Newman, Patricia (Gary) Christie, Joanne (Alfred) Marcelli and nieces, nephews and cousins.
A private family service will be held at a later date. We are grateful for the love and support of all who knew Peter. Memorial contributions may be made to VNA Hospice Foundation, Vero Beach, FL, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960-9911.

Peter was one of nicest guy I had ever met. He and Kay were first couple we met when we lived at Grand Harbor and we spent many happy times both on and off the golf course.

ALTHOUGH JAN IS NO LONGER WITH US I KNOW SHE WOULD AGREE THAT MEETING PETER AND KAY AND SHARING MANY GOLF AND DINING MOMENTS WITH THEM WAS A HIGHLIGHT OF OUR TIME AT GRAND HARBOR. PETER WAS A TRUE GENTLEMAN AND FRIEND AND HIS LOSS SADDENED US GREATLY. MAY HE REST IN PEACE IN HEAVEN

PETER WAS ONE OF MY FAVORITE PEOPLE WHEN I LIVED AT GRAND HARBOR, HAD MANY HAPPY MOMENTS DINING AND GOLFING WITH HIM AND KAYE. HE WILL BE MISSED.
