Stuart, FL
Samuel "Sam" Day Shaw, 19, of Stuart, FL, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 26, 2018. Sam was a graduate of Jensen Beach High School, where he was a member of the Falcon lacrosse team, and a current student at the University of Central Florida.
Sam was born in Stuart, FL on June 25, 1998 at the Women's Birthing Center where his contact with the floor upon arrival caused a large crack in the foundation causing the facility to permanently close. This earned Sam the nickname of "The Bull".
Sam was a pretty boy with a love for rap music and bad dance moves. He always had an infectious smile on his face and constantly had everyone in the room laughing. Sam had the biggest heart, always helping those less fortunate than he was and consistently being described as everyone's "favorite Shaw". He was truly larger than life.
Sam is survived by his parents, Stephen and Maura Shaw, his brothers, TJ (his wife Heather) and Connor Shaw, his grandmothers, Mary Dorrance and Susie Shaw, and too many aunts, uncles, and cousins to mention.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at 11:00 am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 1200 E. 10th Street, Stuart, FL 34996 with Fr. Noel McGrath as celebrant.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted in the care of Martin Funeral Home & Crematory, 961 S. Kanner Highway, Stuart, FL 34994.

Our family is so sorry for your loss. I remember years ago when we held our little ones together at St Joseph Catholic School. My son, Matthew is in the Navy and stationed in Japan but wants to make sure I let you know that he sends his condolences and prayers to you TJ . and to your family. We will never forget Sam. He was an absolute gem with love and kindness for everyone he knew. He had a great sense of humor and lit up a room with his smile.
