Hildegard Sacha Obituary

Hildegard Maria Sacha died April 3, 2005 at Sunnyside Kaiser Hospital in

Portland with her loving family by her side. She was 68 years old. Hilda

was born in Regensburg, Bavaria, Germany to Josef and Maria Pengler on

April 12, 1936. She married Harald Kurt Sacha in Regensburg in 1954.

They had two children, Kurt and Ingrid.

Their son, Kurt was born in Germany. Shortly thereafter, in 1955, they

immigrated to America with Harald's father and mother, arriving by ship at

Ellis Island along with many other European immigrants. From New York

they traveled by train to Longview to join Harald's sister, Erika and her

husband, Jim Marvin. Hilda worked very hard at various jobs throughout

her working life.

Hilda's favorite hobbies included cooking, knitting and traveling. Her

specialty was German delicacies. Hilda would often look for a special

occasion to entertain and prepare a delicious meal for those close to her.

Another of Hilda's favorite passions was knitting. Throughout the years

she knitted several beautiful afghans for family and friends. She also had

a fondness for travel and always looked forward to her outings to the

casino with friends. Although she liked her trips to the Oregon Coast and

Reno, she especially enjoyed her travels throughout Europe to visit with

family and friends.

Hilda's grandchildren were a very important part of her life. You would

often find her attending one of their many activities. She loved every one

of their performances, be it choir, orchestra, baseball, basketball, soccer,

roller hockey or bowling. She was there to encourage and support them at

everything they did.

She leaves behind a son, Kurt; a daughter, Ingrid; four grandchildren,

Candice, Brian, Nicole, Jennifer; three brothers, Josef, Johannes, Dieter;

four sisters, Ericka, Elfriede, Sigliende, and Musch. All her siblings are

presently living in Bavaria, Germany. She also leaves behind numerous

nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her

husband, Harald.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday at St. Rose Catholic

Church. Dahl-McVicker Funeral Home in Kelso is in charge of

arrangements. Viewing will be held Thursday afternoon at the funeral

home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the American

Heart Association, Pacific Mountain Office, 710 Second Ave., Suite 900,

Seattle, WA 98104.

From the Nooner Family

(Marion(Anderson), Farrin, Marla, Matt, Eddie, Verlin, the late Edward Nooner)

My Mom just found out and is sad to have missed the memorial service. Our prayers go out to your family. I still remember visiting as a child and seeing the turtles in the backyard pond as us kids played while our parents visited for hours on end. :-)

Take care, Verlin

Our family was deeply upset to hear about the death of Hilda....We go back many years as our daughter Laurie and Ingrid were friends in grade school....we lost touch for many years and imagine my surprise when my mom Joyce Myers was telling me about a new friend she had met by the name of Hilda and she was German !!!!Well of course it turned out to be the one and only Hilda I had known for years...she was a very kind, outgoing and vivacious lady....she was a very special friend to all of us and we will never forget her...Love "The Fishers" Janice, Gary, Kelli and Ryan.... Also her good friend Joyce Myers

I'm so sorry for your loss, Hilda was a very special person. I always remember how she was so kind to me. Her daughter Ingrid and I were friends since we were 5 years old. She was someone very special to me growing up. My deepest sympathies to Ingrid and Kurt, and all family.

Love, Lisa
