Barbara P. Finch

AGE: 84 • Holmdel

Barbara P. Finch, 84, of Holmdel, died Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012, at her residence. She was the proprietor, along with her husband of Lawlor Travel Agency of Rumson & Fair Haven for over 40 years, retiring in 1992. She was a member of the Women's Republican Club of Manhattan; member of the PEO of Monmouth County; 1st woman member of the Triangle Club of Princeton, member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, graduate of the Princeton Country Day School, Shipley School in Bryn Mawr, Pa. and Finishing School in Manhattan. She was a member of All Saints Memorial Episcopal Church, Navesink. Born in New York City, she resided in Manhattan, Cherry Tree Farm in Princeton, and the Monmouth Hills section of Middletown before moving to Holmdel in 2008.

She was predeceased by her husband, David Shrady Finch, in 2007; her parents, Karl D. Pettit and Estelle Fitch Pettit; two brothers, Karl & Samuel Pettit; and a sister, Anne Bittle. Surviving are a son, Alexander Morison Shrady Finch of West Long Branch; a daughter, Anna Barbara Shrady Finch of Holmdel; two brothers, Walter F. Pettit of Piedmont, CA, and William D. Pettit of Seattle, WA; a sister, Mary E. Funk of Keene, NH; and three grandchildren, Michaelah Grace Reynolds, Sterling Morison Shrady Finch, and Sage Alexander White Finch.

Relatives & friends are invited to call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23 at Posten's Funeral Home, 59 E. Lincoln Ave. at Central Ave., Atlantic Highlands. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012 from All Saints Memorial Episcopal Church, Navesink. Interment services are private.
