Remembering Professor King on this day. It hit me hard when I learned of his passing. I never wanted his classes to end. Wish I could go back and take them all over again. I won't meet another Professor King. Not in my lifetime. He was such a charismatic instructor. His impact will be felt for years to come.

I came across this while researching. It blows my mind of how many people that have made a positive impression in my life have passed away during the time I was trying to settle down in Florida. I would have gone to the funeral if I had known sooner. Had Professor King for a couple of history courses during my years as a student at Quinsigamond Community College. Very knowledgeable instructor and very passionate about history. I could even say he was a grandfather figure to me much like Dr. Shea would be later during my Worcester State University years. Hope you and Dr. Shea are feeding Heaven with the knowledge of history Professor King. I will miss you and never forget you. My sincere condolences to his family and friends.

Remembering Professor King on this day and every day. An expert in the study of past events. He had a passion for history with his encyclopedic knowledge and his gift for explaining and interpreting historic events. His passion for the subject was infectious. He also had a presence when he spoke. Can't stress enough the impact he made on my learning. Thank you very much for the courses. I enjoyed every minute of your lectures. God Bless.

Remembering Daniel King
I just have the utmost respect for the man. He was a man of impeccable character and worthy of praise. Someone of his caliber comes along once in a lifetime and leaves a lasting impression.
I recall my first course with him was Western Civilization Ancient World and I didn't know what to expect in my freshman year. I thought to myself that this professor is going to be tough. Well, he was and after one semester I was hooked. Let's just say the rest was history and six others would follow, along with several note taking assignments. He was an instructor without parallel.
His passing has touched my life and heart. The way he inspired me has touched me even more. I'm grateful for the gift of this man and all he taught.
Thanks for the memories Professor King. They always make me smile :)
Your student always.

Remembering Daniel King on this one year anniversary of his passing. I always held him in high regard. I raved about him often and referred to him as Dr. King. I know he didn't actually have a PhD but he was that intelligent. It was evident from his lectures that I was learning from the best. He was the most brilliant, articulate individual I ever met. His level of knowledge was so advanced but he could gear it to his students.
I'll be thinking of him this Memorial Day when the series GRANT debuts on the History Channel. It's something I know he'd watch and appreciate being a lover of the Civil War. We shared a love of history and that's how I honor his memory.
Dan King was a great human being. May his memory be eternal.

Let me begin by expressing my condolences to the King family for their loss. I recently learned of Professor King's passing from a fellow colleague. I would've attended his service had I known but grateful for this opportunity where I can pay my respects.
It's with a heavy, sorrowful heart that I write this heartfelt tribute. Professor King truly was a extraordinary, remarkable individual. While both as a student and faculty member at QCC, I made it a point to take every course this man taught. In some cases, waiting months or years before certain courses were offered again. Every semester I would check the catalog with eager anticipation to see what and when he was teaching next. I would've walked the ends of the earth to be in one of his classes.
A brilliant intellect---I often referred to him respectfully as "The Walking Encyclopedia"---A wealth of knowledge, absorbing facts, events, minutiae like a sponge, fusing thoughts into a coherent body of knowledge. He knew history, whether ancient, modern world, U.S., biblical, the Holocaust (my last course with him) like the back of his hand and I should add without the aid of texts or notes. He was so passionate about the subject. I also respected him for being old school, a gentleman and scholar, a great historian. A class act in every sense of the word.
Whenever I read a history book, watch the History Channel or visit a historic site my mind always goes to him, recalling the knowledge he imparted. He inspired that love of history, conveyed the importance of having a historical sense, and, in so doing, left an indelible mark.
Churchill once said of FDR that "meeting with him was like opening your first bottle of champagne; knowing him was like drinking it". That can be said of Professor King when in his presence.
No one can sing "Ave Maria" like Perry Como, no one can announce a ball game like Vin Scully and no one could teach history like Professor King.
May God Bless Daniel King. He will always live on in my heart and he will always be my favorite professor. May his memory be eternal.

To Dan's family, I want to extend my deepest sympathy to you all. I attended Gates Lane School with Dan and I think he also attended South High, too. I've often wondered where he was and how he was doing, so it's so good to read of the wonderful life he had. To also read that you had a summer place in Dennisport really makes me wonder if we had passed by each other at some time because I lived in West Harwich for many years. Please know that my prayers go out to you all.
Sincerely, Angela (Hanlon) DuDeVoire
