Frank Pellegrino Obituary

Frank A. Pellegrino, 89, of Shrewsbury passed away, Tuesday, September 4th in St. Vincent Hospital after a long illness.

Frank's wife of 50 years Elizabeth K. (Joseph) Pellegrino passed away March 18th. He is survived by his nephew and principal caretaker Santino Pellegrino; his guardians, Thomas J. Pellegrino and Frances P. Verdolino all of Worcester; two brothers, Joseph "John" Pellegrino of Grafton and Anthony Pellegrino of Worcester; two sisters, Sophie Ruggieri of Worcester and Ruth Michaud of Shrewsbury; many other nieces, and nephews. Three brothers, Salvatore, Pepino and James Pellegrino and five sisters Rose Manganello, Florence McClintock, Rita Barber, Jeannette Pellegrino and Carmella Messenger all predeceased him. Frank was born in Worcester one of thirteen children of the late Antonio and Philomena (Laudone) Pellegrino and has lived in Shrewsbury more than 50 years.

Frank worked many years as a sheet metal worker for the Sheet Metal International Workers Union Local #63, working for various companies before retiring.

He was a member of Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church and the Sheet Metal International Workers Union # 63. He was a World War II, U.S. Army Veteran.

Frank's funeral will be held Friday, September 7th from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. with a mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church, 24 Mulberry St. Burial will follow next to his beloved wife in Mt View Cemetery in Shrewsbury. A period of visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Friday, September 7th in the funeral home prior to the funeral.
