Hermis Yanis Obituary

Hermis Yanis Jr.

Douglas - Hermis Yanis Jr. also known as "Junior" 67 of Douglas died Monday, October 21, 2019 at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Hospital in Lebanon, New Hampshire from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in Dummerston, VT on October 13, 2019.

Born in New York City, Junior was the son of the late Hermis Sr. and Olga (Badillo) Yanis. Junior was a lifelong truck driver for various local companies, but his true passion was not for the truck but for motorcycles, family and friends that will miss him dearly. Junior has left a place behind that cannot be filled and has left a legacy that will go on unmatched.

Junior owned 7 Hawks Media and produced the Biker New England TV show which was loved by many. His enthusiasm for touring on his bike with his love Deborah, while meeting new people and seeing the countryside gave him great joy. Junior also used his outgoing personality to help many through recovery from addiction. He will be remembered for his work with AA and being a beacon of hope to all who were blessed to know and be mentored by him.

Junior leaves his true love and life partner Deborah Cote who survived the motorcycle accident. Junior also leaves his three sons, Jared and his wife Katherine, Micah and his wife Felicia, Christopher Bolsey, two step-sons, Johnny and Joshua Scanlon, one brother, David Yanis, two sisters, Lydia Simoneau and Blanche Borrero, and 15 beloved grandchildren, Jacob, Samantha, Jaxson, Isabella, Tyler, Justin, Alorah, Alyssa, Kayleigh, Summer, Jack, Caden, Brielle, Zachary, and Dallas.

Memorial services for Junior will take place on Saturday November 9, 2019 at the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME AND CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. Worcester, MA 01605. Calling hours will be from 1pm to 4pm with a service to celebrate Junior's life at 4pm. Burial will be private for the family at the Eastwood Cemetery in Lancaster on a later date.

JR, Mickey "the Bomb" Antonelli and I were clerks together at the BOP bed & breakfast at Oxford WI in the early 80s.

While I don't have a history with Jr as the others herein, I know this: Jr was a man of good courage, offended by injustice and did something about it. His motives were pure and he was a stand-up solid friend who always kicked my butt on the handball court every day in 1984. I wish I had tried to locate Jr sooner and at least talked or visited him before now. You're a good man Jr.

I miss you already Jr. You were such a good friend to me. We go way back. You helped so many people in and out of the program.
You were ONE OF A KIND! I am so glad you were in my life.
I remember you coming to my 40th Birthday party thrown by my children. You were the only AA person there. I was so appreciative. That was when I got to know you.
You were a great conversationalist and one to argue your point always!!
I miss you now and will miss you always until we meet again.
My heart goes out to your beautiful Deb and your fabulous family.

Junior was my first cousin. We come from a big family. His father Hermis Sr. was my mother , brother. All I have is good memories of junior. Although I havent seen him , in awhile , he was always present in my heart. I loved when junior would randomly show up to New York. The family always got excited. My mother Hilda would call me and tell me junior came from Massachusetts. Then , the family in New York would gather at my grandma Petra house , junior grandma. He was always funny and loving. Our grandma adore him. I like the way he would loving tease her. Junior was a humanitarian, like is grandma. I will forever be grateful , there was a time , when I was going through a difficult time with one of my sons, and I called him and told him about what was going on, he said dont worry Ill have a talk him , whatever, he said worked , today my son is 36 years old doing great! In life. Junior had a heart ❤ of gold , he was intelligent , handsome , and a Yankee fan , just like his grandfather , Jose Yanis . Junior will on in his children and grandchildren , gone too soon , Miss forever I love you ,never forgotten My condolences to the rest the family , Blanca , David , Lydia .Jared Micah, the children , Debbie I met you a long time ago, you went to my sister Denise wedding , I will continue praying for you , you are an amazing woman, God Bless you

I will never forget you coming to my 40th birthday way back when. You were the only AA friend I had there. I was new in the program. I hardly knew you at that time. We were good friends from then on.

My prayers go out to Deb and the entire family.

Junior, was my oldest brother and he was my protecter and friend! I rember when he was in the Cub Scouts and I use to follow him. He would tell me to go home. I would hide be hind the trees. He took good care of my parents in their golden years. He loved our dog a German Shepard Rex. Junior also loved horses and would go to the stables in South Lancaster. He had a GTO that he loved. Oh yes he played the drums in his school band. I can visualize him as I'm writing. Yes, we would argue like most brothers and sisters do. I loved and love him my brother will always live in my memories and ❤! I know that I will see him on the new earth, when Jesus Christ returns! Until then my blood and brother Junior!
Love for eternity,
Blanca

Deb and Juniors Family,
Junior and my brother George Query (Georgie as Junior called him) were friends that had a bond like super glue. They laughed, bickered, filmed together, lived life to its fullest, shared deepest thoughts, and loved each other through health and sickness.
May Junior Rest In Peace. Moreover, may Deb and Juniors family have peace of minds and hearts knowing he is at peace. He spoke his mind and while there was a toughness in that, his heart was open to love and he could wear his heart on his sleeve to demonstrate he cared about situations and people.
I thank him from the bottom of my heart for loving George/ie the way he did. It was a pleasure to be a part of Juniors life.
