Service: 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in Mount Olivet Chapel. Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Mount Olivet Funeral Home.
Memorials: First Baptist Church of Burleson Building Fund.
J.W. was born June 21, 1930, in Fort Worth to Vernice and John W. Underwood. He was a lifelong resident of Tarrant County. J.W. was a charter member of both Crowley Masonic Lodge #1437, past master, Order of Eastern Star #1125, past worthy patron. He retired from Lockheed in 1993 after 45 years of service. J.W. served in the U.S. Army during Korean War. He was a member of FBC Burleson.
Survivors: Wife of 57 years, Mary Kay Underwood; daughters, Ginger Allen and husband, Jerry, Kathy Fuller and husband, Ray, Loretta Jimenez and husband, C. Edward, all of Burleson, Janie Smith and husband, Weldon, of Chico; brother, Bobby Underwood and wife, Pat, of Round Rock; grandchildren, Donna Ybarra and husband, John, Amy Veselka and husband, David, Jeff W. Ray, Robert Ray, Sarah Smith, Timothy Smith, Rachel Jimenez, Matthew Jimenez; and eight great-grandchildren.

I was on the road when I was told of Buster's passing. I am sorry I could not be at his funeral. Knowing Buster the way I did I am reminded of a passage in God's word that is found in Matthew 25:23 that says "His Lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of the Lord." May the love and peace of the Lord be with you in this hour.
