John Lydon Obituary

John M. "Jack" Lydon GRANTHAM, NH - John M. "Jack" Lydon, 81, of Grantham, NH, formerly of Boylston, MA, died Sunday October 28th 2012 at Hanover Terrace, Hanover, NH, after a long illness. He leaves his wife of 53 years, Mary (Celona) Lydon; two sons: Patrick and his wife Maria of West Boylston, MA and Thomas of Pompano Beach, FL; two daughters: Kathleen McDonald and her husband Steven of Enfield, NH, and Maura Rydzewski and her husband Thomas of Galway, NY; four grandchildren: Matthew and Meghan McDonald and Ryan and Leanne Rydzewski; many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was born in Boston and raised in Clinton, MA, the son of Michael J. and Helen D. (McNally) Lydon. He was a graduate of Clinton High School and attended The Williams College School of Banking. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. For more than 40 years prior to his retirement, Jack had an extensive career in the banking industry. He began at The Clinton Trust Company and later became a Vice President at Worcester County National Bank and Shawmut Bank. He lived 40 years in Boylston, MA before moving to New Hampshire in 2000. Family and friends are invited to a calling hour at the Ricker Funeral Home, 56 School Street, Lebanon, NH from 9 to 10 a.m on Saturday, November 3, 2012. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m at St. Mary's Church, US Route 4, Canaan, NH with burial to follow in the Oak Grove cemetery in Enfield, NH. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jack's memory to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 26 Broadway, 14th Floor, New York, NY 10004 or The Autism Society, 4340 East-West Highway, Suite 350, Bethesda, MD 20814.
