Mary Dumont Obituary

Mary Ann Dumont, 61

Shrewsbury - Mary Ann (Lapriore) Dumont, 61, died peacefully in the arms of her husband and surrounded by her daughters on December 26, 2020 at their home in Shrewsbury, MA after a courageous battle with cancer.

Mary Ann was born on May 15, 1959 in Worcester, MA to Frank and Wanda (Nowosilecki) Lapriore. She graduated from Shrewsbury High School and Becker Junior College. Mary Ann worked as a legal secretary throughout her life, most recently for Atty. Vincent Vilkas and made many positive relationships throughout the Worcester District Court System. Mary Ann was happily married to Scott Dumont who was her partner in life for more than 38 years.

Mary Ann is survived by her husband Scott, her two daughters, Kelly Ingerson and husband Taylor of Merrimack NH; and Lisa LaBaire and husband Richard of North Grafton. She also leaves three grandchildren: Jaxon, Abel and Kayla; her beloved companion, Gizmo, who never left her side during the past two years of her battles; a sister Paula Lapriore Bulger and husband Kevin of Shrewsbury; a brother Peter Lapriore and wife Deborah of Shrewsbury; a sister-in-law Theresa Lapriore of Shrewsbury; many nieces and nephews, extended family, and innumerable friends. Mary Ann is predeceased by her parents, Frank and Wanda Lapriore, and her brother Frank Lapriore, Jr.

Mary Ann was a sunflower to so many people. They looked to her for strength, guidance, love and acceptance. She was the matriarch of her family. Mary Ann and her husband hosted many parties at their home where she was and always will be remembered as Crazy Mazie with her party pants. Mary Ann and Scott also enjoyed playing card games, board games and planning trips together, especially to North Carolina to see their close friends/relatives, Nicole and Norman Lowe. Mary Ann looked forward every year to her "girls beach trip" with her daughters, grandkids, sister, sister-in-laws, nieces and close girlfriends. She would catch any musical she could see, especially her favorites: Fiddler on the Roof and The Sound of Music. Throughout her life she was involved in Girl Scouts, both herself at first growing up and then as an assistant leader for her daughters. For many years, Mary Ann enjoyed being a part of bocce leagues and spending time with new and old friends. She loved music; playing the violin during her earlier years and the piano throughout her life. Mary Ann would sit down at the piano and entertain us all during holidays, especially her favorite, Christmas Eve.

Mary Ann was blessed with three grandchildren; she was known as Mayonaise to them. Mayonaise spent much time with them, taking them to parks, to the library, creating wonderful works of art and experimenting with science, swimming, beach trips and so much more that they will hold onto as memories.

Mary Ann was a neighbor of ours. She was the first neighbor we met when we moved here 2 years ago. She would always stop by on her walks with Gizmo and would stop to chat with me and my daughters. We will miss her terribly. All of our love, sympathy and condolences to her family.

Aunty Mary, some of my favorite memories with you are: going to Wright's Chicken Farm, playing bocce ball in your backyard, you introducing me to your Wizard of Oz obsession, having you at my wedding, and crying-laughing watching you dance in Meme's kitchen with Auntie Nicole during the holidays.
You were so full of life! I loved that about you. Always so lively, happy, vibrant, always smiling.
Love you, Aunty Mary. We will all miss you so, so much! Say hi to my Papa for me, if you see him May you rest in peace

Auntie Mary sure knew how to light up a room. She was always smiling and made you feel right at home as soon as you entered a room. She was so generous to everyone around her. She was knowledgeable about an array of topics, including our family history, and I will miss those stories she would tell me. I am always thinking about you- Uncle Scott, Kelly, and Lisa and send my love xoxo

Mary,

I will never forget the day I met you at a family party. You came right up to me introduced yourself and gave me a big hug. I was a little surprised at the display of affection. You said "we're a family of huggers" , we both laughed. You were warm and welcoming that day so many years ago.

You will missed by myself and everyone that had the pleasure to have known you.

Auntie Mary....We will never forget you or the kind, loving, funny, caring and wonderful person you were. This all seems so unreal. You were the life of the party’s, the fun one to be with, the kind and caring mother to Kelly and Lisa and a wonderful wife to Uncle Scott! You were my sisters best friend and you two knew how to make life so full of happiness and turn a bad moment into a happy moment when you were together! As they say your nickname fits you so well “Crazy Mazie”!!! You are now her guardian angel as you are to all of us. I will miss you and all the things you have done for “our” family. You always thought of everyone no matter what. You are now free of pain and suffering which I wished you never had to endure. Rest In Peace Auntie Mary, we will miss you so much and we all love you. Thank you for being apart of our family and making so many memories with us and we will never forget any of that. Love you always and forever, until we meet again.

How very heavy my heart is for all of you. Maryann & I were quite close in HS - then we drifted. I was lucky enough to reconnect a few years back via FB. We had quite a lengthy catch up texting session recently - it was, warm, caring, sweet, funny - everything Maryann is - a most wonderful soul. RIP my dear friend. My deepest condolences.

To all of Mary Ann's family, I am heartbroken over the loss of my friend. Though it's been several years since we've been in touch, I'm certain she fought her battle with courage and dignity...two qualities that best described her. May she Rest in Paradise, until we meet again. Godspeed, Mary Ann

Mary Ann was a warm and happy friend, I remember shopping with her for Kelly's wedding she was hysterical. She was a special person that I met in my banking day and she with her husband would join us for the Relay For Life of Shrewsbury with him showing up in snorkeling and swilling attire, it was raining that year. Mary Ann was the light in my dark days and always shined like the sun. Her sunshine will be missed greatly. May you fly high, always smile down on your family and grandchildren and may we hear your laughter! I will miss you greatly!

It has been so much fun laughing with Mary Ann over the years, especially the last class SHS reunion. She was one of the nicest people I've known. I am so sad for her family and friends.

Hugs and prayers for you all.
