Sophie Marquis Obituary
MILLBURY - Sophie V. (Bialecki) Marquis, 98, died peacefully Thursday, Feb. 4th at Care One at Millbury.
Her husband, Joffre A. Marquis died many years ago. She leaves a daughter, Donna M. Donohue of Millbury; a son, Wayne R. Marquis and his wife, Deborah of Charlton; two grandchildren, Jeffrey and Justin Marquis; a sister-in-law, Ida Bialecki of Millbury; nephews and nieces. She was born in Clinton and is predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Veronica (Gzymata) Bialecki, two brothers, Walter and Raymond Bialecki and a son-in-law, Benjamin "Mick" Donohue.
Sophie was an inspector at Sprague Electric in Worcester for many years. She enjoyed reading, spending time with her grandchildren and her dogs and vacationing on Cape Cod. She was a member of the Millbury Council on Aging and was a volunteer at the Millbury Senior Center. The family would like to send a special thank you to the staff at Care One at Millbury for their mothers care.
Sophie's funeral will be held Monday, Feb. 8th from Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury, with a Funeral Mass at Noon in the Assumption Church, 12 Waters St. in Millbury. A calling hour will be held from 10:30 to 11:30 Monday prior to the Mass, in the funeral home. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery in Worcester.
