Thomas J. "Tad" McLaughlin, Jr.

Clinton - Thomas J. "Tad" McLaughlin, Jr., 82, a lifelong resident of Clinton, died Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at Sterling Village after a brief illness. He is survived by his sister, Kathleen Chiavaras & husband Michael of Clinton; nephew, Thomas Chiavaras & wife Kristen of Princeton; great-niece Kaylee Chiavaras; numerous cousins, and many dear friends.

Tad was born in Clinton to the late Thomas & Catherine (Kelley) McLaughlin. He attended local schools and was a graduate of the Clinton High School Class of 1951. Tad worked for many years at the former Ray-O-Vac Company in Clinton before joining the Clinton Public School System, from where he ultimately retired as head custodian at the Clinton Middle School. He was a devout member of St. John the Guardian of Our Lady Parish and active among the Knights of Columbus. He held membership with the Holy Name Society and Clinton Lodge of Elks. Tad most enjoyed golfing mornings as an original "Sandbagger" and long time member of the Berlin Country Club. He most cherished time spent in the company of family and friends and will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure to have known him. Funeral services are to be held on Saturday, October 12, 2013 from the Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11AM in St. John the Evangelist Church, 80 Union St., Clinton. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Lancaster. Calling hours will be held in the funeral home Friday, October 11, 2013 from 5 until 7PM.
