Elbert MAPLES Obituary
MAPLES, JR., Elbert Rayburn "Pony"On April 30, 2013, Pony left Nashville to go to his Eternal Home in Heaven. Born in LaFayette, GA on March 29, 1933 to Sybil Faulkner and Elbert R. Maples, Sr. He is survived by his three daughters, Beverly Gale Powell (Ryan), Dana Maples deTar (Steve) and Constance Maples Ovesen (Todd), as well as his stepchildren, William Horton (Shelley) and Lydia Horton; 10 grandchildren and his beloved friend and longtime caregiver, Peggy Burch. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at 1 p.m., at Brentwood United Methodist Church, with visitation beginning at noon prior to the service. A Celebration of Life, which will be held at his home, will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Pony's favorite charities: A Soldiers Child (www.aSoldiersChild.org) and Operation Stand Down Nashville(www.osdNashville.org).
