John C. Grice Sr.

GRICE, SR., John C.Age 82, passed away August 18, 2009 at his residence. Preceded in death by his beloved son, Charles C. Grice; grandson, John III; parents, Charles and Bessie Grice; brothers, Charles and Willis Grice; sister, Ruth Melvin. He is survived by his wife, Catherine Locke Grice; much loved son, John Jr.; grandsons, Charles Grice II and Nelson (Anne) Grice; beloved daughter-in-law, Patricia Grice (Fred) Koller; sister, Betty Grice Bibb; great-grandsons, Jonah, Seth, Joseph, Benjamin, Vincent and one precious granddaughter, Janie Cate; many loving nieces and nephews; one brother-in-law, Bobby Locke, Sr.; sisters-in-law, Maxine Houle, Peggy Cooper, Ruby Loucks, Evelyn Grice and Mary Locke; very special nieces, Leanne, Sally, Holly Locke and Kimberly Gingles. John worked for Bell South Telephone Company prior to transferring to Lucent Technology at divestiture. He retired from Lucent Technology in July, 1984. The funeral service will be Friday, August 21, 2009 at 10 a.m., at West Harpeth Funeral Home, with Brother Frank Owen officiating. Pallbearers will be Bobby Jr., Jeff, Todd and Steve Locke, Frank Houle, Randy Bibb and Russ Melvin. Great-Grandsons will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. Interment at Williamson Memorial Gardens.
