OMAHA - Martin J. Placzek, 83, of Omaha, died Sunday, Oct. 5, 2008, in Omaha.
Services are 10 a.m. Thursday at Sts. Peter and Paul Church. Interment is at St. John Cemetery in Bellevue with Military Honors by American Legion Post 331.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Wednesday with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service at Korisko Larkin Staskiewicz Funeral Home.
Martin was born Jan. 28, 1925 in Loup City to Joseph and Bernice Placzek. He was raised in the Columbus area and still has family living in the area. Martin was a member of the Polish Home, VFW 2704 and AL 331.
Martin is survived by daughter, Linda Placzek; daughter and son-in-law, Chris and Jim Overfelt; son, Jim Placzek; three grandchildren, Jim, Nancy and Lisa Overfelt; brother, Joe (Bev) Placzek; sisters, Sophia Laska, Carolyn Maryanski, Sylvia Czarnek; many nieces, nephews, friends and associates.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Angeline; parents, Joseph and Bernice; brothers, Charles, Frankie, Bernard and Sylvester; sisters, Bernice Kuta, Ann Krajicek, Clara McCarville and Agatha Placzek.
