ohhhh....I just learned of his passing. I am Meg Signs. I had met all of you here at Centennial when Dr. Athar was hospitalized a year or two ago. I was so blessed to finally put a face to all your names after all the years of hearing stories about you, and how he loved you. Your dad, (husband) and Dr. Fakhruddin taught me everything I know about being a psychiatric nurse. I came from NY in 1980 to "Madison Hospital" fresh out of nursing school, and all these years later I attribute my skills to them!
We shared a love of fishing, and I have several lures he had gifted me through our years. He was so loved by all the nurses he taught, and all the patients he healed.
I am so sorry for your (our) loss and will send prayers for comfort and Peace.
Forever grateful for the experience of knowing him!

JOANN, NATASHA, AND JAY,
I am so sorry for your loss. I know you will miss him forever. He helped so many people throughout his lifetime. He suffered for so long; he just couldn't go on. My heart is broken. I am so sorry I was unable to come; but I was there in thoughts and prayers. It was an honor and privilege to have known Dr. Athar as my employer and my friend. No matter how bad the situation, he always had the kind and caring words to make one feel better. You have my deepest sympathy.

Joann,
Please accept my condolences, and convey same to Tasha and Jay. I felt energized talking to Zillur uncle on various interesting topics, travels, politics and such. He called it as he saw it. A very good and kind gentleman.
