Robert T. Holleman, Jr.

LAFAYETTE - Robert "Bobby" T. Holleman, Jr., 52, died at his Lafayette, Louisiana home on Monday, March 25th. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 29, 2013 at a 10:00 AM Service in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille Funeral Home in Lafayette.

Reverend Thomas Voorhies, Pastor of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Scott, Louisiana will conduct the funeral services. Charlene Howard, soloist, accompanied by Karen Broussard, organist, will sing "Ave Maria," "The Lord's Prayer," and "Be Not Afraid" for the services.

Robert was a wonderful father, loving husband, attentive son, caring brother, and will be remembered for his vivacity and the incredible zest for life he shared with all around him. A graduate of LHS in 1978, he attended Centenary and graduated from USL in 1984 with a degree in Geology. He went on to become an owner and operator of AnEm Exploration (named for his beloved daughters), Summit Energy, and most recently Holleman & Kenney. His many social activities included the Krewe of Bonaparte and Les Brigands de Lafitte, alumnus and house chairman of the Kappa Sigma fraternity chapter at ULL, the American Association of Petroleum Geology, the Lafayette Geological Society, and the board of CSC Rage Select Soccer. His life's greatest joy was hunting with his daughters at his Texas ranch.

Robert is preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy C. Holleman, and survived by his loving wife Michelle Fontenot; daughters Anne Elizabeth, Emily Katharine and future son-in-law Beau Willis; father Robert T. Holleman, Sr. and his wife Perry; sister Dottie; stepchildren Austin, Ryann, and Collin Pinkerton of the USMC; the mother of his children, Shari Bernard Holleman; and his niece and nephew Kate and Jack Caffery.

Family and friends are welcome to the services on Friday at 10:00 AM, officiated by Father Thomas Voorhies.

Pallbearers are Marshall Montgomery, Mike Kenney, Lynn Holleman, Collin Pinkerton, Beau Willis, Jack Caffery, and honorary pallbearers are Gerald Gerami, Lance LeBlanc and Kevin Tauzin.

Bobby brought joy to all who knew him, and his memory will continue to do so. His love sustains those he left behind, and his touch on their lives will be felt forever.

The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's DOWNTOWN location on Thursday from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Friday from 8:00 AM until time of service.

My deepest condolences to the family of Mr. Holleman. I do not know you, but I knew your dad because he was friends with my father, John Grant. My dad passed away suddenly at 57 in April of 2008. Mr.Holleman spoke with me at his funeral and was very sweet and kind. I know so well your grief and sorrow and I just wanted to let you know I will be praying for you.
