William Lloyd Garrison Jr.

William Lloyd Garrison Jr., 63, known to all his friends and loved ones as W.G., peacefully entered into eternal life to meet his maker. He was a longtime resident of Port Allen and resided in San Antonio. W.G. was born in Maringouin on Aug. 3, 1944, to the union of the late William Lloyd Garrison Sr. and the late Louvenia Mims-Garrison. He graduated from T.A. Levy class of 1963. W.G. later earned a bachelor's degree from Southern University in physical education. He went on to pursue his dream of being self-employed. W.G. began his own establishment, W.G.'s Enterprise. W.G.'s Enterprise brought many noteworthy concerts to the Baton Rouge area. He leaves to cherish his memories a daughter, Liebe Garrison, Houston; two grandsons, Cortland Bolling and Cameron Garrison, both of Houston; two sisters, Thelma Garrison and Betty Morgan, both of Port Allen; a brother and sister-in-law, Calvin and Linda Garrison, also of Port Allen; an uncle and aunt, Douglas Sr. and Ernestine Mims, Maringouin; five nieces and spouses, Regina D. and Kenneth Bynum, of Baton Rouge, Stacie and Columbus Hamilton, of Zachary, Darlene and Myron Gibson, of Plaquemine, Tiffany and Emile Nash and Louvenia and Travis Barber, all of Port Allen; five nephews and spouses, Russell and Lena William, Ricky Williams, Randy Williams, all of Zachary, Mark and Jackie Garrison and Milo Garrison, all of Port Allen and a host of other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his parents; grandmother, Genevia Mims; a sister, Sharon G. Mazone; and a niece, Rhonda Williams. A memorial service will be held at New Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church, Port Allen, on Sunday, Feb. 17, at 3 p.m. The service will be conducted by Michael A. Byrd, pastor.
