Richard Krementz Obituary

Richard Martin Krementz (93), of Augusta, Georgia, passed away peacefully at home on February 2, 2024, surrounded by family.

Richard (fondly known as Rich) was born to Edward and Mary Krementz, on November 11, 1930, in Louisville, KY. Rich lived across the Ohio River from Louisville, in New Albany, IN, until 1965. He was a graduate of New Albany High School and attended Bellarmine College in Louisville, KY. Rich lived in Lexington, KY from 1965-1984, Aiken, SC from 1984-2002, and Augusta, GA from 2002 until his death.

Rich is survived by his wife Joyce of 67 years, children Richard Jr. (Valerie), Theresa (Eric), Mary Sue, Edward, Daniel (Rebecca); brother John; fifteen grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Rich was predeceased by his siblings Edward and Anna, and his daughter-in-law Erin.

Rich was a devout member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church. He was also a member of Covenant Community in Lexington, KY from 1974-1984, then joined the Alleluia Community in Augusta, GA in 1984. He was a Full Covenant member of Alleluia from 1991 until his death. His passion was to be a part of restoring unity in the Body of Christ.

Rich worked in administration and claims adjusting in the trucking industry from 1948 until 1982, except for 2 years serving in the U.S. Army in the mid-1950s. From 1982 until his retirement in 1996, Rich was a sales representative for Century Marketing.

Rich was a devoted husband and father who took great joy in attending the sporting events of his children and grandchildren. Rich took up golf in midlife and enjoyed playing into his 90s. He and his wife enjoyed playing a daily Scrabble or card game together. He was a kind and gentle man who had a keen sense of humor to his last days. He had a passion for bringing Jesus to others. Even in his last days he expressed to all he came in contact with how much Jesus loved them and how much he wanted to be with them in heaven.

Visitation for Rich will be held at Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors, 214 Davis Rd, Augusta, GA on Sunday, February 11, 2024. The family will receive extended family and friends from 4:00-5:00 PM, followed by a rosary and celebration of life at 5:00 PM.

Rich's funeral service will be held on Monday, February 12 at 11:00 AM, at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Augusta, GA, followed by the burial at the Alleluia Community Cemetery in Dearing, GA.

In lieu of flowers, Rich requested that donations may be made to the Alleluia Community School. Checks can be mailed to PO Box 6805, Augusta, GA 30916 or donations may be made online at alleluiacommunity.org, Donate tab. There is a comment section on the donation page.
