Andy Morris
George Randall Morris Jr. (Andy Morris) of Brunswick, passed away peacefully on Dec. 27, 2022. Andy left this world at the far too young age of 44. He was surrounded by the hands of wonderful physicians and family in his hometown of Brunswick.
Andy was the son of the late George Randall Morris Sr.; and his surviving mother, Tami Benjamin Gane. Andy grew up in a loving home and was the oldest sibling of three, which included his sister, Jaime Morris McDonald (42) and brother Gary "Butch" Morris (38). Andy was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church, in downtown Brunswick.
Athletics were a very important part of Andy's life. As a longtime member of the Brunswick Country Club, Andy's drive to demonstrate leadership through competition began at a very young age. Youth basketball, baseball, and golf led to a lifetime of friendships along the way. In high school, Andy was a three-sport athlete, competing in all three of his favorite sports and achieved many accolades doing so.
Like many others, college was Andy's next step. Andy attended Valdosta State University which became a continuation of countless friendships and meaningful relationships throughout his lifetime. The friendships and relationships built carved a permanent path in the next chapter of Andy's life. After college, Andy began his work career with the creation of Skippers Fish Camp. It's the house that Andy built. To go to Skippers and interact with Andy was a treat by itself. His life story is evident everywhere you look throughout the restaurant. It is a brand that is uniquely Andy's. Hard work and love were two major components of Andy's heart. That was his business model, and it was undefeated.
Lastly, being a daddy was something that Andy loved more than anything on this earth. Tripp Morris (14) and Addie Morris (11) didn't need to search hard to find love in their lives. A loving mother and father have always been at the center of the children's lives. Andy shared his love for the outdoors and his knowledge in all walks of their young lives. Andy wanted nothing more than the very best for his children and his love will undoubtedly live in their hearts until they reunite again.
Andy was preceded in death by his father, George Randall Morris Sr.; paternal grandfather, Parnell Morris; maternal grandfather, Lloyd Benjamin Sr.; and maternal grandmother, Shirley Benjamin.
Andy is survived by his mother, Tami Benjamin Gane (Brad); his children, Tripp and Addie Morris; a sister, Jaime Morris McDonald (Josh) and their children, William, Bennett and Charles McDonald; a brother, Gary Alan Morris (Christen) and their children, Mary Camryn and Ellie Lynn Morris.
