Robert L. Gilmour
Robert L. Gilmour, 75, of Salinas, passed away Saturday, February 19, 2011, peacefully in his home surrounded by his family.
Born October 14, 1935 in Newhall, Robert was a resident of the Salinas area for 50 plus years. In 1965 he married the love of his life, and together they raised their combined eight children in their Salinas home. Robert was a member of the Elks No. 614, S.I.R.S., and a Teamster.
He was preceded in death by his wife, two sons, step-daughter, and his sister.
Survivors: Children, John Gilmour, Loretta Sylvia, Bonnie (Steve) Rothstein, and Hud and Joseph Loyd; sister, Wanda Coe, and brother, Benjamin Gilmour; grandchildren, Loyd, Elizabeth, Joey, Ruby, Sophie, Ryan, Kim, and Tommy Lynn; eight great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Celebration of Life at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 28, in the Chapel at the Queen Of Heaven Cemetery, 18200 Damian Way, Salinas.
Burial: Entombment at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 28, at Queen Of Heaven Cemetery.
Arrangements: Struve and Laporte Funeral Home, 41 W. San Luis St., Salinas.

I worked with Tommy back in the early 80's. She was a lot of fun, but mostly I remember how much she loved , and how PROUD she was of her family.. I was sad to hear of her passing, as I am now to hear of your Dad. But after some time goes by, maybe you can find what ever comfort in knowing they are together. She was really something, and I bet he was too!
