Dennis Eugene Beal

Dennis Eugene Beal, age 78, of Glenn Dale Maryland, went home to be with the Lord on May 2nd, 2022. Preceded in death by parents C Monroe "Sonny" Beal and Mary Ellis Beal, and brother Gary Beal of Maryville TN. Survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Glenda J Beal, daughter Susan E Beal of Brooklyn NY, sister Mary Ann Sayne of Maryville TN and nephew Chuck Sayne (Jami), sisters-in-law Wanda Johnson, Helen Johnson, Deborah Johnson, Joann Moore and niece Kendra Moore Shackleford, cousins Judy Brownlie (Rick), Susan Jones Best(Mike), Tony Ellis (Sharon), Richard Ellis (Bobbie), Amanda Ellis Sharp (Gary), Emily Ellis Lusby(Rick). He also leaves his beloved dog Teddy. Dennis grew up in Maryville TN and started his career as a newspaper reporter with the Knoxville Journal. He moved to Florida as an aid to governor Lawton Chiles and continued to work for him when he was elected to the senate, moving to Washington DC. Dennis had a lifelong love of news and politics and worked for some time as a lobbyist. He also enjoyed mentoring freshman congressmen as they started their career in the Washington D.C. area. Dennis had a great sense of humor, endearing him to family and friends. He will be greatly missed. Graveside services were held at Trentville Cemetery, Strawberry Plains TN.
