Robert Lloyd "Bob" Cain

1949 - 2023

Robert Lloyd 'Bob' Cain Robert (Bob) Loyd Cain, age 74 of Alcoa, TN, a proud veteran of the Army and Air Force, passed away July 17, 2023, of a heart attack. The son of Kathrine Cain, Bob was born and raised in Gardiner-Randolph, Maine on June 28, 1949, where he attended Gardiner Area High School. At the age of 18, Bob enlisted in the Army. Later in his career he transferred to the Air Force. He valued his service highly and proudly served 23 years. As part of his service, he served in the Vietnam War receiving a purple heart, before retiring. He was also an active member of VFW Post 5154. Bob is preceded in death by his mother, Kathrine Cain and Sister, Billie Cadwallader. He is survived by his wife, Karen Cain, son, Jeff Cain, stepdaughter, Amanda Spain (Steve Mealey), his grandchildren, Gavin Cain and Hunter & Shelby Spain, his niece, Carol Minoty, and nephews, Lee Hinkley and Corey Pare and several great nieces and nephews. He will be remembered for always being dedicated, caring and fun! Family will receive friends on Sunday, August 6, 2023, from 12:00 until 1:00 with a service honoring Bob's life at 1:00 pm at Smith's Trinity Chapel. Family and friends will assemble on Monday, August 7, 2023, at 10:00 am for a graveside service with military funeral honors at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, 2200 E Governor John Sevier Hwy, Knoxville, TN 37920.
