I am so sad to hear of Gregg's passing. I remember little of Gregg but I do remember he and my brother Bob were friends and Gregg was always polite and nice to Bob's little sister. I would like to think that Bob and Gregg are having a nice reunion, maybe traveling a little together.
My Condolences to the family, you are all in my heart, thoughts and prayers.

Greg travelled all over the world much of his life and worked in several different jobs. He was artistic, multitalented, well-read, highly educated, knew and understood history, and he was thoughtful. Unlike many of us, he took risks with his short life, traveling unknown roads, meeting unusual people, working, trekking in what were then exotic places (India, Sri Lanka, Costa Rica, just to name few) He was brave, and unusual. He had wanderlust, like so many Irishmen, and an adventurous spirit. When I think of him, I will think of him wandering the backroads of our Great Planets, to see what he could see. Perhaps that spirit died with his generation, and can only live on in our memory of him. I have attached a picture of Greg at the University of Connecticut, at Storrs, since I think this must have been a special time in his life. Dad said, like his niece, Malika, that he was a Merit Scholar, and this would not surprise me since I always admired his fine mind. Malika uses his outstanding academic achievement as a beacon on her journey at MIT, and as a reminder of how the Flanagan clan has always valued education, and all forms of learning. Happy trails Brother and Uncle Greg.

Dear Winny, Susan and Paul
I knew Greg to be so smart and quite while growing up in S.P. I am glad I had the opportunity to speak with him on Facebook about two months ago ...of the days and memories of our youth. I am so very sorry for your loss.
