James Wilson Obituary
Jim was a graduate of Ella T Grasso Technical School in Groton. He worked at the Department of Transportation for the State of Connecticut. Being a Fire Fighter was his passion. His dedication and commitment lead him to be a past Fire Chief for Center Groton Fire Department.
He is survived by his father, Edward and his wife, Donna of Middletown; a sister, Marie Ann Wilson of Ga.; step-brother, Robert (Christina) Fletcher; step-sister, Christine Fletcher; and nephew, Ben.
Jim was predeceased by his mother, Virginia.
A Memorial visitation will be held from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. Friday, May 25, 2018, at the Byles Groton Memorial Home, 310 Thames Street in Groton. A Graveside Service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, May 26, 2018, at Smith Lake Cemetery in Groton. Family suggests donations in Jim's honor to the Connecticut Children's Medical Center, 282 Washington Street, Hartford, CT 06106

Hard to believe you've been gone a year.

The kids and I will cherish you always.
Zachary was so pleased to get the Best Grampa Knickknack & firetruck to remind him of you.
I have the Bumble , lol. He will be in my car every winter.
Materials things do not replace you , however , it's comforting to have them around.

U were my big brother ever since I was at the fire house with dad and mom. U were a very loveing and kind man as well. I am so sorry I could not be here with all today due to my sons health issues but I am with u in Sprit.

As you struggle with grief beyond words and time slips by; never feel that Jimmy has been forgotten. His legacy of kindneds & integrity left an indelible mark on every person that was lucky enough to get to know him.
