I didn't know Cheryl had died until this year. I called her phone number and received the dreaded message that the phone number was no longer in service. I googled her name name and read the obit with a sad heart. Cheryl was my oldest friend. We met when she was 6 and I was 5. I knew her family, Coy, Francis, Hon ( her grandmother) Brad and finally Steve, who was first my boyfriend until I introduced them. She was my matron of honor when I married the first time. I was so sorry when she moved down to So. CA. It meant we didn't see each other very often, but we stayed in touch by phone. She remained the type of friend that we could just pick up where we left off the last time we talked.
She was the best friend I ever had. We shared so much together - our entire adolescent and teen age years together. We raised each other until we were adult married women with children. She called me when Steve died. I called her when Ron died and then again when Jim died. We cried together. Now I cry for her alone.
My heartfelt sympathy goes out to her family. She was one in a million, but you know that already.
Cheryl, love, I know I will see you down the road. Until then, Godspeed.
