Delores "Dee" Richardson Ball

Dee Ball, 91 of Bryan, TX, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 3rd, 2023 surrounded by family. Dee was born December 19, 1931 in Bertrand, Nebraska to Lester and Betty Mae (Hemmerite) Richardson of Kearney, Nebraska. She was the youngest of two siblings. She grew up in Kearney, Nebraska. She raised her family in Omaha, Nebraska and later moved to Livonia, Michigan and then to Terre Haute, Indiana where she lived until the passing of her husband, Jim.

Dee married her high school sweetheart, James Leslie Ball on March 25, 1951. They were married for 66 years before Jim's passing. Dee is survived by two daughters DeeAnn (Ball) Page and her husband John of McCordsville, Indiana and Sue (Ball) Wolfert and her husband Bob of Bryan, Texas.

Dee dearly loved her family. She leaves behind five grandchildren, Leslie (Page) Mikolajczyk of Terre Haute, IN; Michael Page and his wife Mindy of Noblesville, IN; Jamie (Wolfert) Bomnskie and her husband Brent of Bryan TX; Matthew Wolfert of Fort Worth, TX; Laura (Page) Maynard and her husband Marty of Monrovia, IN. She is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren, Nicole (Mikolajczyk) Eilbracht and her husband Michael of Abilene, TX; Autumn Mikolajczyk and Casey Craig of Monrovia, IN; Hailey Mikolajczyk of Terre Haute, IN; Braden, Kambrie, Brogan, and Rilyn Bomnskie of Bryan, TX; Avery and Graham Page of Noblesville, IN; and Sean and Page Maynard of Monrovia, IN.

Preceding her in death are her parents, Lester and Betty Richardson, one brother, Charles Richardson, and her beloved husband, Jim Ball.

In her early years, Dee worked as a church secretary and at a clothing store, but for the majority of her life, she was a homemaker. Dee loved all things Hallmark and spent many days running down ornaments that went on sale after Christmas making sure all of the different series she started for each family member were fulfilled. Dee was a collector at heart including Hallmark ornaments, wooden boxes, buttons, and match books.

Dee loved indoor plants and had many to "keep the oxygen flowing throughout the house!" She bowled in the Newcomers Bowling League for many, years in Terre Haute, Indiana. Dee also enjoyed needlework, knitting and cross-stitch. Dee enjoyed reading, playing cards and all kinds of puzzles. Most of all, Dee enjoyed spending time with family, especially spending the holidays together playing with the grands and great grandchildren. She will be missed terribly by all.

She was a member of the Central Church of Christ in Bryan, TX. She loved the Lord and put on Christ in baptism at the age of 86. We take great comfort knowing she is with the Lord.

There will be a memorial on Tuesday, November 7th at Central Church of Christ in Bryan at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, Delores requested donations made to the North Belize Medical Mission, 1600 E 29th Street, Bryan, TX 77802.
