Dorothy Foreman Trant

Dorothy Foreman Trant passed away Tuesday February 14, 2018. Her husband, of nearly 50 years, Blocker Trant, preceded her in death. A visitation is scheduled from 5 to 7pm, Sunday, February 18, 2018, and Life Tribute Services honoring Dorothy's life is 10am, Monday, February 19, 2018, both at Callaway-Jones Funeral Centers. Life Tribute Services are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Centers Bryan-College Station.

Dorothy was born in Troupe, Texas to Ernest J. Foreman and Gladys Lucille Henderson Foreman. She moved to Houston as a young girl and graduated from Milby High School and attended business college before meeting Blocker at Waugh Drive Baptist Church. Dorothy was head teller for a bank in the Gulf Building, when it was the tallest building in Houston, Texas. After her marriage in 1954, Dorothy and Blocker remained in Houston area until 1962 when they moved to Navasota with their young daughter, Gregorie. While in Navasota they remodeled a historic home and Dorothy was active in First Baptist Church and opened a successful accounting and tax business in Bryan. The couple moved to Bryan in 1968, where they continued to work alongside each other in their accounting and tax business for over 30 years before retiring to Houston to be close to their daughter and granddaughter. Mrs. Trant also worked for Republic Energy and MHMRA.

Before retirement, Dorothy ran a successful bed & breakfast hosting many, many Aggies and their families for holidays and game days! They were also fortunate to have hosted many weddings in their home for friends and family, most proud of nieces and nephews of both and Blocker and Dorothy who were married in their home over the years. Dorothy enjoyed entertaining, cooking, remodeling several homes, including two historic homes, and most of all, she enjoyed her family and being a Grammie. Dorothy always had a pot of coffee and cookies waiting for anyone who dropped by their home or office.

She and Blocker enjoyed raising and showing horses with their daughter and they enjoyed traveling in their later years. They also had some ventures in the restaurant business in Bryan-College Station and adopted many Aggies. Dorothy was a member of First Baptist – Bryan where she was in the choir, Singing Tree, and provided refreshments for Vacation Bible School. The past few years, Dorothy had resided in Houston and Deer Park to be close to her daughter and granddaughter.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Gladys Foreman; sister, Ruby Barron and brother-in-law, Rayburn; nephew Glenn Ray; brother Bobby Foreman and sister-in-law Shirley, nephew Ricky, nephew, Clay Light; brother, Ernest, Jr. She is survived by sister, Mary Light of Houston; nephews, Kirby and wife Rhonda (Washington state);great-niece, Rachel and great-nephew, Kirby, Jr., and Kranston Light; niece, Lacy and husband Wayne and great-nephew, Matius (Hawaii); niece, Jennifer Wenzler and husband Rich; nephew, James; niece, Dedria Mines and husband John (Alto); great-nephew, Billy Ray (Queen City); great-niece, Shannon Abulnasr and husband Ahmed, great-great nephew, Mohammed (Egypt); nephew, Mark Crocker and wife Janie of California; and her daughter, Gregorie Tunstall and son-in-law, Tracy (Deer Park); and her most beloved granddaughter, Ashton Brailyn Bouline of Jacksonville, Texas.

Their faith, many friends, and the knowledge that Dorothy was reunited with the love of her life Blocker, in a heavenly reunion on Valentine's Day, comforts the family.
