Don Gibbs was one of the nicest men I had the pleasure of knowing. He was my school bus driver when I was a student at Dundee Elementary back in the 1960s and he didn't put up with any horseplay on his bus and would stop the bus to put a lid on it. He was firm but fair. I also had the pleasure of teaming up with Don at Hart Ridge golf coarse when I was back in Iowa visiting my parents. He was.a hell of a baseball catcher back in the day too for Dundee High School I was told and looking at the fingers on his hands told me it must have been true. I will sorely miss Don the next time I tee it up at Hart Ridge. Rest in peace Don and may God's perpetual light shine upon him.
