Helen Jahnke Obituary

Helen Marie (Diton) Jahnke entered the gates of heaven to meet her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, October 9, 2023. Helen was born on September 5, 1926 and spent her childhood in Fort Madison, Iowa. After High School she attended the State University of Iowa where she obtained her RN degree. She married William D Jahnke (1925-2016) and they had six children during their 67 years together. She is survived by her children and their families, David and Virginia of O'Fallon, MO, Barbara and Steve Campbell of Downey, William Jr. and Jane of Urbandale, Paul from Cedar Rapids, Elizabeth and Daniel Colwell of Bellevue, NE and James and Anne from Cedar Rapids. She had 12 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. A Memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, October 14 at 3pm with visitation prior to the service from 1-3pm at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Iowa City. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed toward Our Redeemer Lutheran Church or the Solon Retirement Village Foundation. The service will be live streamed with the link available on the church's website. A full obituary may be viewed, and online condolences may be shared at www.lensingfuneral.com.
