William Brandt Obituary

William A. "Bill" Brandt, 67, Monticello, passed away at 6 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2014, at his residence, surrounded by his family.
He was born on Dec. 12, 1946, in Evergreen Park, Ill., to the late William J. and Lorraine (Johnson) Brandt.
Bill had lived in Oaklawn, Ill., and various suburbs of Chicago, Ill., for 31 years, before moving to the Monticello area 37 years ago.
He was a 1964 graduate of Oaklawn High School of Oaklawn, Ill.
Bill had worked as a telecommunications technician for Verizon for 22 years, retiring in 2008.
He was a United States Navy Veteran, serving during the Vietnam Era.
Bill was a member of the Church of God in Oaklawn, Ill., and attended the Monticello Christian Church and various other churches through the years.
He was also a member of the Am Vets Post #91 of Monticello, the NRA (National Rifle Association), and the Answers of Genesis.
Survivors are son, Clint (Megan) Brandt, Monticello; daughters, Belinda (Ryan) Crabb, and Kimberly (companion Anthony Tauriello) Brandt, both of Palm Coast, Fla., Bridget Schroeder and Angela Deloria – Brandt, both of Monticello; grandchildren, Clint and Megan Brandt's, Kayla (Billy) Young, Averie and Saige Brandt; Belinda and Ryan Crabb's, Hunter Yeakley, Tarin Yeakley, and Aubree Crabb; Kimberly Brandt's and Anthony Tauriellos's, Anthony Tauriello Jr. and Ethan Tauriello; Bridget Schroeder's, Celica Slavens, Billy Coonrod, and Byrce Schroeder; Angela Deloria – Brandt's, Leticia and Shayan Martinez, and Haley Pancake; great-grandchildren, Kayla and Billy Young's, Casten and Braylen Young; Shayan Martinez's, Sway Martinez; and sister, Sharon Kuta, Frankfort, Ill.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William J. and Lorraine (Johnson) Brandt; wife, Judy Brandt; former wife, Linda Brandt; infant son, Matthew Brian Brandt; and granddaughter, Rian Addison Brandt.
Visitation will be from 4 - 8 p.m. Friday at the Monticello Christian Church, 105 Gordon Road, Monticello, and from 9 – 10 a.m. Saturday at the Miller – Roscka Funeral Home of Monticello. Celebration of Life Service will be at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Saturday with Rev. Chris Dodson of the Monticello Christian Church officiating.
Burial with Full Military Rites by the Monticello Veterans Honor Guard will follow at the I.O.O.F. Riverview Cemetery in rural Monticello.
Memorials may be given to the Answers in Genesis, P.O. Box 510, Hebron, Ky., 41048-0510. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Bill will be missed deeply. Bill was like a father to me when I was young. He and my sister Judy Trowbridge Brandt helped me graduate highschool in 1982. Bill was a great inspirationto me in life and spiritually in Christ. Bill helped me also in bringing me into the telecomunications trade. He will truly be missed.
