Elizabeth J. "Betty" Hunt

Elizabeth Hunt Obituary

Elizabeth J. “Betty” Hunt, 78, was reunited with her beloved husband, William (1992) of forty years when she passed away suddenly on Sunday, August 17, 2008 in her home in Norwalk.

Born Elizabeth Jane Martin in Stamford on July 30, 1930 to William and Mary Martin, she graduated from Stamford High School in 1948 and worked as a hairdresser for a short time. She married William E. Hunt and began their life in Stamford before settling in Norwalk in 1961. She enjoyed water exercising and the company of her friends at the Norwalk YMCA. She took extraordinary care in keeping her home tastefully decorated and was always sure to keep it immaculate.

She will be sadly missed by her two children, Gary W. Hunt and his wife, Monique of New City, NY and Kerry Bulson and her husband, Frank of Danbury, CT. She is also survived by her brother, William R. Martin, Jr. and his wife, Sarah of Trenton, MI. Missing but always remembering their Grandma are her four grandchildren, Amanda and Alex Hunt, Scott Consentino and Ryan Bulson. Betty also leaves behind two nieces, a nephew, several cousins and friends, as well as her loyal companion of many years, her much-loved dog, Casey.

Betty's family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, August 20, 2008 in Norwalk's Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 5 East Wall Street, from 7:00PM to 9:00PM. Her funeral will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2008 in the funeral parlor at 10:00AM. Deacon Francis Chiappetta of St. Philip's Church, Norwalk will officiate. Interment will follow in the family plot at Willowbrook Cemetery, Westport.
