Fran was a tremendous friend to me and my family. He was also a personal mentor to me at Lockheed Martin. We had countless laughs, but got so much accomplished together during our careers. I will miss him dearly.

Growing up my family visited Fran, Joan and the kids often. Always a fun time with great people. Mr. Walter (as I knew him) was very devoted to his family and they to him. It's heartwarming to know how close they stayed throughout the years and through Mr. Walter's final illness. Wishing him eternal rest and wishing peace and warm memories to the family.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of our friend and co-worker Fran Walter. He was a man of great Christian faith, and that faith was reflective in his moral character. At the Naval Air Development Center (NADC) he held a major leadership responsibility in the A-NEW Program, a program that brought the P-3C Antisubmarine Warfare Aircraft into the digital computer age. He was well respected for his systems engineering knowledge and professionalism. I will miss him for all the talks we had together. He will also be missed by the NADC Breakfast Group. I know the Lord is now granting you His peace. My condolences to Joan and family.

Learning of Fran's passing deeply saddens me. Not only does Fran and I share the memories of working at NADC but Fran and Joan were my 9am OLMC mass celebrant buddies for the past 20+ years in Doylestown. Due to COVID I have missed seeing them on Sundays.
My deepest condolences to the Walter Family, may Fran RIP in eternal Life.

Fran was my boss while we built the Software Development Facility at NADC in the early 70s. He was a great engineer and mentor. Also one of the truly good guys to work for. Many of the things I learned from Fran I continuously used throughout my career. My condolences to Joan and all of Fran's family.
