Watson, Phyllis Marjory Ketchum

Phyllis Marjory Ketchum Watson went home to be with her Lord and her beloved husband Eugene (Moe) Watson and her young daughters, Cecelia Watson and Jackie Watson on October 04, 2017. She was 92 years old. Phyllis was known by many names such as Phil, Aunt Phooie, Dutchess, but most everyone close to her called her Mama. She loved the Lord, her family and anyone around her who needed it most. Phyllis and Moe adopted many college students and helped them while they were away from their own homes. Their house on Grove School Rd. in Brooktondale was always a welcoming place, where you could warm up by the fire, eat homemade bread and sit on the porch to chat.

Phyllis and her husband helped to establish the Ithaca Baptist Church in 1962. Phyllis retired from the ICSD as a senior account clerk for the school lunch program after 21 years. She and her husband then enjoyed traveling to every state in their camper. They especially loved Alaska and returned many times. Phyllis was a founding member of the Gorges Gals of Ithaca Red Hat Society and made many wonderful memories with them. Her fun, adventurous, kind and loving spirit will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 06, 2017 at 1 pm at the Bangs Funeral Home. Friends may call prior to the service beginning at 12 noon. Burial will be held in the Garrett Mandeville Cemetery.
