Bertha Flinn Obituary

Bertha Elizabeth (Fast) Flinn
Bertha Elizabeth (Fast) Flinn, 86, passed peacefully into her eternal reward on Saturday, July 17th.
Given the opportunity to poke fun at her grandson's fascination with distilled spirits, she could think of no better day to leave than the day he was celebrating his birthday at a nearby distillery.
She is preceded by her loving husband Robert, who has been living the bachelor life in heaven these last 38 years.
As for those she leaves behind, we're just glad we can finally get rid of some of this furniture that none of us want. Because if we got rid of it three weeks ago, you know as soon as it was out the door, she would have asked to see it. So, look for a yard sale soon.
Her memorial party was Tuesday, July 27th and it was a blast. Hawaiian shirts, laughing, storytelling, and endlessly repeating the riddles Bertha has been collecting and sharing for the last two decades made for a perfect day celebrating this amazing daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She did the same things y'all did. She was born (in Hooker, OK), grew up, went to school, had a life, and has 2 daughters, lots of grandkids, and a bunch of great-grandkids who will miss her but look forward to seeing her again before too long. Now she gets to hang out in paradise. So, take a lesson from Bertha. Stop being so serious and have fun. The only guarantee is we won't get out alive, so make the most of each day. And maybe read a book or two. Because those screens are frying your brain.
Now get out of here. Go outside, enjoy the sunshine, and hug the ones you love. Grandma says so.
