Calvin Eugene "Fat Boy" Roberts

Calvin Eugene "Fat Boy" Roberts, 52, passed away Sunday, Oct. 12, 2014.
Born Jan. 24, 1962, in Lancaster, he was the son of Mr. Willie F. Roberts Sr. and Mrs. Eva Mae Poston Plyler.
Calvin was an avid football fan, favoring the Georgia Bull Dogs, and loved spending time with his grandchildren, nieces and nephews. When he was in school he had brought South Junior High School's football team to the state championships two times and played with the Bruins for a year and a half.
In addition to his mother and father, Calvin is survived by his two sons, Calvin Jr. and his children, Hunter and Emmaleigh Roberts, and Jay Byrnes and his children, Brianna and Cayleigh; a daughter, Shannon McAllister and her children, Kelsey Arant and Tyler Phillips; two brothers, Willie Jr. and his wife, Tammy, and Dennis Roberts; two sisters, Jackie Chitwood and her husband, Jimmy, and Dawn Bowers and her husband, Todd; including greats: eight nieces, 13 nephews, and many more loving family and friends.
A visitation for family and friends was 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14, at McLean Funeral Directors, Mahaffey Chapel, 201 N. Catawba St. The Rev. Douglas Pate will officiate a service at 1 p.m. today, Oct. 15, at New Life Freewill Baptist Church, 1622 Springdale Road Lancaster.
