Phyllis Friedman Obituary
Phyllis M. Friedman, 85, of Clarksville, TN, died on Friday, August 31, 2012 at her residence. She was born on September 27, 1926 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana to the late EDwin Friedman and Ester Zelt Friedman. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ralph B. Friedman and brother, Earl Menking.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel with Dr. John Laida officiating. Burial will be in Ft. Wayne, IN at a later date. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 3, 2012 from 1-4 p.m. and Tuesday, September 4, 2012 from 10 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Phyllis was a retired business owner having owned and operated several businesses including the Midway Shopping Center. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She was an avid gardener and member of several bridge clubs. She loved people and was a devoted member of Lib Laida's Sunday School Class.
She is survived by her son, Jeff Friedman (Anise) of Birmingham, AL; daughter, Selma Paul (Steve) of Atlanta, GA; brother, Howard Menking of West Virginia; and five grandchildren, Zach Kissell, Lani Acuff, Jay Friedman, Ellie Friedman, and Annabelle Friedman.

I had known her for a fairly short time through bridge. Thought of her as a wonderful lady with a positive outlook and welcoming smile. I will miss her presence.

Phyllis was in several bridge clubs of which I was a member. She never gave up and was an inspiration to us all. She will be sorely missed.
