LOUIS RENTZ Obituary

Blessed Hope MBC
LAKELAND - Rev. Dr. Louis Rentz, the eldest son of Rev. Paul & Ora Mae Rentz, was born Feb. 14, 1932 in Lake City, FL. He was baptized at an early age at Philadelphia MBC (Lake City). He joined the US Army where he was Honorably Discharged, receiving the UN Medal, Korean Service Medal and the Bronze Star. He was blessed to meet and marry his lifetime companion, Polly McKenzie on June 6, 1964. He transitioned from serving his country to serving the Lord by answering his call to the Ministry at Pleasant Grove MBC, St. Petersburg, FL (3/6/66). He pursued his theological education at the Florida Theological Seminary (Lakeland). Upon grad-uation (1973), he became an Instructor & Business Manager for the Seminary. He was led by the Lord to establish his Bible Institute in 2000. All throughout Rentz's Ministry he was teaching, preaching and sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ for 43 years. He served as a Pastor at New Jerusalem MBC, Lakeland, FL, from 1970-1988 and served as Pastor of Blessed Hope MBC, which he established in 1988 until his health declined in 2012.
On July 8, 2014, he fell asleep following a gathering of loving family, church family, and friends, near his bedside.
He leaves to cherish his memory, a loving wife of 49 years, Mrs. Polly Rentz; two sons & four daughters; 13 siblings, 7 sisters, 6 brothers, grandchildren, great grandchildren, sons in the Ministry, church family, a host of other relatives and sorrowing friends.
Visitation will be Fri., 5-7 pm at Greater Jerusalem Baptist Church (1125 N. NY Ave), Lakeland. Funeral Service will be Sat., 11 am at the Church.

Rev. Rentz was a very special person. He served well in whatever capacity. He wanted you all to know that he moved. He received a call from God, the Chief Architect, who informed him that his new house was ready and he could move immediately. I am sure he wanted to apologize for not giving you all notice.
