Darrell Gene Schroll

1949 - 2023

Darrell Gene Schroll died peacefully at KU Hospital on Wednesday July 26th. He was born on March 13th, 1949 to James Schroll and Zelda Anderson Schroll in Zeandale, both deceased. He has two children, son Rusty (Jen) and daughter Kristy (John) and two brothers, Dana (Jan) and Linn (Sharon) Schroll. He was a Navy Vietnam veteran. After serving, he asked Janet Sackrider to marry him. They wed on July 29th, 1972, and enjoyed 50 plus years together. They started Schroll Auto Body Shop and worked together for 40 years. Darrell was a great husband, father, and friend. If you called looking for him, Janet would say check the lakes. His passions included bass fishing, fixing old cars into street rods, going to car shows, and he could always be found reading a book. There will be a celebration of life at the Manhattan Hilton Garden Inn at 410 South 3rd St on Saturday, August 12th, at 2-4 pm. All who knew Darrell are welcome to attend. Donations in his name will be given to the Manhattan Public Library and the T Russell Reitz's Animal Shelter and can be sent to Schroll Body and Paint at 630 Hayes Dr. 66502 or brought to the celebration of life.
