BEATRIZ MATA Obituary
McALLEN - Beatriz C. Mata "Grandma Bea", 76, entered eternal rest on Monday, November 8, 2010 at her McAllen home surrounded by her loving children. Beatriz was born April 14, 1934 in La Grulla, TX. She was married in McAllen, TX to Manuel Mata, Jr. They had been married for 62 years. She is preceded in death by her parents Pedro and Santos (Bermea) Castillo; and a son, Roel Mata.
She is survived by her husband, Manuel Mata, Jr.; one daughter, Rosa Maria (Cesar Gomez) Mata; seven sons, Robert (Irma) Mata, Ricardo (Maria de Rosario) Mata, Ruben (Linda) Mata, Rogelio (Hortencia) Mata, Ramiro (Patty) Mata, Rolando (Patricia) Mata and Manuel (Iris) Mata, III all of McAllen; four sisters, Tomasa Ramirez of McCook, Julia Lemke of McAllen, Hortencia Garza of McAllen and Alma (Ricardo) Guzman of Mission; three brothers, Rudy (Eufemia) Castillo of Corpus Christi, Pete Castillo of Elgin, IL, Pablo Cortez of Mission and Raul (Francisco) Castillo of McAllen; 23 grandchildren, Bobby, Mike, Krystal B., Ricky Jr., Michelle, Yvette, Lori, Candice, Rachel, Janelle, Jaime, Trinity, Cecilia, Gabriel, Roy Jr., Claudia, Clarissa, Bianca, Lesley, Alyssa, Julissa, Mathew and Meagan; 31 great-grandchildren.
Grandma Bea will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her and whose lives she touched.
Visitations will be held from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at Rivera Funeral Home in McAllen. Prayer of the Holy Rosary will be at 7:30 pm. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in McAllen. Funeral mass will be said at 10:00 am Thursday, November 11, 2010 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in McAllen, with Mons. Juan Nicolau officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery in McAllen.
Sons will be serving as pallbearers.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Rivera Funeral Home of McAllen.

My thoughts, love and prayers are with you. I pray that God's peace hug each one of you. Comadre Beatrize was a wonderful lady and I am glad I got to know her. As one song says "In heaven there is no pain, no cancer, no tears and I truly believe she is dancing and drinking coffee with Mama Maria.
