Hillry Ranson Obituary

McAllen - Hillry L. Ranson DDS, went from his earthly home to his heavenly home Thursday, September 7th. Dr. Ranson was a practicing dentist in McAllen for 48 years. He was born in Abilene, Texas on January 20, 1938. He attended Texas A&M where he was a distinguished military graduate in 1960. He also completed a year of graduate work in 1961. Hillry then attended the University of Texas Dental Branch graduating in 1965. He was commissioned in the US Army as a captain, serving as a dentist at Fort Knox, Kentucky before moving to McAllen, Texas in 1967. Hillry was married to Gail Cooper Ranson and they have two sons, Cliff (Kim) of Mission, Texas and Joe of Kyle, Texas. They have six grandchildren, Lindsay Zinser(Adam) of Nashville, Tennessee, Jordan Ranson of McAllen, Texas, Bo Ranson of Mission, Texas, Kelsie and Jill Ranson of Kyle, Texas, and Reed Ranson(Taylor) of Schertz, Texas, and one great grandson, Gauge, of Schertz, Texas.

Hillry taught Sunday morning bible classes for 48 years at McAllen First Baptist Church, was a deacon emeritus and active member whose great love was sharing the love of Jesus in the Rio Grande Valley. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. He was also a member of The Texas Dental Association and The American Dental Association.

The family will be at Kreidler Funeral Home on Thursday, September 14th, from 6-8pm for friends and family. The memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church, 1200 Beech Avenue, McAllen, Texas on Friday, September 15th at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church, 1200 Beech Avenue, McAllen, Texas 78501 or Gideon's International, P.O. Box 2671, McAllen, Texas 78502-2672.

On behalf of the A&M Class of 1960, I offer our condolences to Hillry's family. Hillry was a great classmate and he will be missed by all that knew him. I'm sure that all his A&M classmates have fond memories because everyone knew Hillry. May God bless Hillry's family during these sad days.
