I worked for Nancy and Glenn at Hafer Hardware for 6 years. Nancy had a sweet spirit and was fun to be around. Both Nancy and Glenn were just wonderful to work for, and I count my time there as some of the fondest memories of my life. My sincere condolences to Glenn, GP and the entire family.

To the family of Nancy Irwin. I am so sorry for your loss. Nancy was a student in several of my fiction writing classes at CMU. She was a wonderful student who wrote beautifully and passionately. Her insistence on making every minute of our class a meaningful one really kept me on my toes. There was never a dull moment when Nancy was in the room. I still remember one evening after our last fiction writing class for that semester. Nancy, Cheryl Meyer, Amy Voege and I went out to celebrate. Such great camaraderie. Nancy expected to be held to the highest standard, but she also knew how to extend the hand of friendship. Dear Nancy, you will be greatly missed.
