Patricia Ann "Millie" Stork, age 74, of Clare, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 3, 2022, at St. Mary's Hospital in Saginaw surrounded by her family. She was born the daughter of Woodrow and Helen G. (Lucas) Millspaugh on Feb. 11, 1948, in Goodrich Michigan. Millie graduated from Michigan State University where she met her future husband Douglas Stork on a blind date. She later wrote in her journal, "cute and nice, but too short". Thankfully, Doug managed to charm her with his wit and she agreed to marry him on August 15, 1970 in Atlas, Michigan. After their marriage in 1970, the Stork's moved to Clare Michigan where Millie began a thirty year career as a teacher. She taught for three years in Harrison before becoming a middle school teacher for the next 27 years in Clare. She was very fond of gardening, her flower beds, and raising cattle, but the highlight of her life was cheering on her children and grandchildren at their many school and sporting events and livestock shows. After retirement, Doug and Millie's second home became numerous sporting venues in Clare, Montabella, Remus and Jonesville, to support their grandchildren.
Millie is survived by her husband, Doug, their children, Julie (Matt) Judge of Remus, Kristi (Levi) Davison of Clare, and Stephanie (Ben) Thomas of Litchfield, MI, eight grandchildren, Ashley Boulis (Stephon) , Emma and Linde Davison, Tyler and Kyle Thomas, and Evan, Erin, and Ryan Judge. Also surviving are her sister, Susie Yagiela and two brothers, Woody (Susan) Millspaugh and Jim (Cyndi) Millspaugh and her fur babies, Roxie, Izzy and Skeeter. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Funeral Service will be held in her honor on Friday, July 8, 2022 at 11 AM at the Clare United Methodist Church with pastor Jack Taylor of Cowboy Ministries officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation at the Clare Chapel of Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home on Thursday, July 7, 2022 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 pm and on Friday morning from 10:00-11:00am at the Church. Burial will be in the Cherry Grove Cemetery in Clare. Memorials are suggested to be made to the Clare Athletic Boosters.
